Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Brush Set

I’ve always believed that having the right tools is the first and most important step towards achieving beautiful and flawless makeup. I got my first real brush set in high school and was forever converted to the benefits of applying makeup with high quality brushes. Although there are plenty of other tools I regularly use in my makeup routine such as beauty sponges and my good old fingers, brushes have really been the key to taking my makeup application to a whole other level. Since that first set (which by the way has held up beautifully, thank you Sigma),  I have been purchasing and experimenting with new and different styles and brands in order to discover new favorites for certain uses and to further develop my makeup application skills. This particular brush set, the Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Brush Set, has been on my wishlist for way to long, honestly years I think, so it was about time that I made the investment.

So I’ll start with my favorites. My first favorite is the natural haired Luxe Sheer Cheek brush. I use this brush for blush and I am so in love with it. It has completely replaced my old favorite, the Real Techniques blush brush, which I still do love and am eager to start experimenting using it with bronzer. It also beats the Sigma version of this brush in terms of softness, application, and blend ability. I totally recommend it!

My next favorite is the Face Shape brush. I love using this brush for concealer everywhere on my face. I’m sure it would work great for cream contour products, but I love how fast and easy this brush makes blending out my concealer both underway eyes and all around my face. It also leaves your concealer perfectly blended, not cakey looking, and streak free.

Next is the Silk Finish brush which I have been using for foundation. This is also a new favorite of mine because it is perfect for effortless blending out of bases. So far my favorite products to use this with are higher bases like the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Finish, the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, and the Bourgois Air Mat. I love the shape of this brush and it’s the perfect density to make blending foundations into your skin seamless.

The eye brushes in this set are all great. I love the Luxe Soft Definer because it’s so soft and really holds its shape when blending. This helps with control and makes precise application and blending easy.  I also like the Luxe Petit Crease brush a lot because again it holds its shape really nicely, which is perfect for precise application in the outer crease and blending out on the lash line. The Winged Liner brush is also great. So far I love it for applying dark powder products as liner on my lash line, and I’m excited to try it out with gel liner because its shape makes it look like it would make gel liner application easy as well as eyebrow powders.

Next for the Powder brush. I like this brush, it’s super soft and applies setting powder really nicely. Lately, I have been after a more sheer powder application so I have been picking up my Bobbi Brown face blender brush over it, but I’ve noticed that it does work great with blotting powders.

Lastly, we have the Concealer Buffer Brush. I do like this brush and have been using it to apply correctors around my face, specifically a green corrector for redness. This brush is also great for overall concealing under the eyes, but I have been picking up the face shape brush over this one for that purpose. Personally, I would have preferred if the set included a brush for eyeshadow application all over the lid because I do see that lacking in this set, but I do find this brush useful and it does a good job for concealer.

Overall, I love this brush set and totally recommend it to anyone, beginner or advanced, because they are amazing quality for a great price and lately I’ve reached for them over many of my previous favorites. So all-in-all, they’ve passed the test!
