What I’m Packing: A Quick Trip to San Fransisco

In my eager anticipation for my San Fransisco trip, I though I would show everything I packed. This video is a roundup of all the outfits I picked out as well as everything I brought in my purse for this short trip. Because San Fransisco weather can be a bit finicky and thus tricky to pack for, I thought I’d give my post-trip advice on what I got a lot of wear out of, what I wished I packed, etc. To see each outfit I packed and where the individual pieces are from, watch the video!

So here’s a little background on my trip. I drove up Sunday night from Los Angeles and took the 101 which travels up the coast. The coastal highway was definitely beautiful but looking back I think that I wouldn’t repeat that because the traffic approaching San Fransisco was horrible. This also could have been because of the timing on a Sunday. I stayed in the city for 3 days and 4 nights before driving back down to LA. Honestly, next time I would probably choose to fly from LA to San Fransisco because I think that it would save some precious hours to enjoy the city. Also, Ubering is a great way to get around the city if you don’t have a car.

Okay moving on to the actual packing part. The city was surprisingly chilly, mostly in the early 60s and very windy. The two outfits I really enjoyed wearing were the blue floral printed dress from Free People because it was a heavier fabric that both kept me warm and didn’t blow up in the wind while still looking summery. I also got a huge amount of wear out of all of the jackets I packed. Bringing a jacket to San Fransisco is a must, because even if it’s not chilly during the day, it will be at night. I also enjoyed my light blue jeans simply because they were warm and comfortable. I should have packed more warm pants.

What I didn’t get any wear out of was my short blue romper dress from Zara simply because it wasn’t warm enough. Also, I enjoyed wearing my Steve Madden heeled sandals, but I wished that I brought another more comfortable option for walking throughout the city during the day. Overall, I think that I should have packed a bit warmer for this trip, but hopefully this helps you pack a bit smarter if you decide to make a trip to this beautiful city.
