Update Your Spring Makeup Bag: Boldly Bronze

Another trend that I have been seeing everywhere is beautifully bronzed skin. From your eyes to your cheeks and lips, this bold bronze trend has really inspired me to put down my contouring products and go for a more beachy and sun kissed vibe. What I’ve really been loving lately has been incorporating simple bronzy elements into my daily looks, which keeps my make up looking fresh for spring, but also gives me a warm and healthy glow.

In order to look very fresh and natural, I’ve switched out my thicker foundations for a light tinted moisturizers. I have been loving the Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer because it provides good coverage and blends seamlessly into my skin. I apply this with my fingers and blend it out starting in the center of my face because this is where I need the most coverage. The product is pretty moisturizing for an oil-free formula and it has a glowy finish which makes my skin look and feel very fresh and radiant, but not too glowy, so it’s perfect for an oily skinned girl like me. It also has SPF 2o, which I think is essential for these warmer months.

Moving on to the the eyes, I think that a bronze eyeshadow look is beautiful on all eye colors. It’s one of my go to effortless day looks that can easily transition into night simply with some black eyeliner. One of my all time favorite products ever, the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette, has some really pretty bronzy shadows that you can use for a multitude of different looks. For the day time, smog or half-baked looks beautiful on the lid with buck in the crease. Or if you want your eyeshadow to look even more subtle, you can use the naked shade instead of buck. When moving into night, just touch up your lid color and apply darkhorse in your outer crease for a more dramatic eye look. You can top off this smokey eye by either adding winged liner using a black gel eyeliner, like Maybelline eye studio in blackest black, or smudging out your lash line using the shadow creep and a small dense definer or pencil brush. The NYX Jumbo Eye stick in the color french fries is another bronze eye product that is great as a base under your shadow to add some depth or even just on its own blended out with your finger. If you are oily, I would recommend using an eye primer under this cream eye shadow stick because otherwise it will not last the whole day without creasing. Other than that, I really enjoy using this as a base with smog on top on my lid, buck in my crease, and a little bit of liner.

Another one of my bronzed skin essentials is, of course, a bronzer. This Chanel cream bronzer called Soleil Tan de Chanel has an amazing almost mousse-like formula. What I find so amazing about this formula is that, although it appears very thick, when you swatch it, it melts right into your skin and looks very flawless and natural. I apply this product with Sephora’s pro small blush and contour brush, #74, which blends this bronzer out beautifully. You can apply this product under or over your foundation, but I almost always use it on top of my base. This bronzer gives a healthy warm glow to your complexion and it has really long wear time. It’s always my go-to whenever I need my makeup to really last or when the weather is hot or humid. A product I love throwing on over this, as a glowy blush-highlighter mix, is this Pink Leopard Too-Faced bronzer. The pink and neutral tones give your cheeks a perfect flush without being too artificially pink. It also has a nice sheen that nicely highlights your cheekbones, making it an easy two-in-one product. I often have this in my purse because it’s such an great throw on product that gives you a beautiful glow and has a great mirror to touch-up your other makeup with.

Lastly is one of my favorite lip glosses. This Trish McEvoy gloss is in the color infatuation and is a peachy bronze color with a subtle shimmer. This color is such an effortless one for me and I think it looks great with so many different looks because it is subtle but also quite different so the gloss still brings attention to your lips without taking away from your eye look. It has a fresh minty fragrance that makes you feel really fresh and makes your lips tingle slightly, which is really nice. This gloss doesn’t dramatically plump your lips or anything, but it does make them look really full and glamorous.
