Sweat-Proof Waterproof Makeup & Hair for the Beach, Pool, and Outdoors

I’m all about the naked face and not wearing makeup to the beach, pool, sports practice, camping trip, etc, but sometimes there’s the occasion where you want to look great and have fun outdoors. Maybe you’re going on a hike, or camping even, with a special someone or you’re going boating or to the beach with friends, and you want to wear a little bit of makeup. But as we all know, makeup and outdoor activities, especially those including water, can be a disastrous combination. You have to make sure that the products you’re using can be put to the test and really hold up through sweat, heat, and water. Here are a few tips on creating a makeup look that will last through the elements. Firstly, you want to cut down you’re makeup routine to the bare essentials. You want to use just the amount of products to give you the coverage you need without threatening to run down your face. I like to stick to concealer, powder, mascara, and lip balm. Secondly, you need to use as many waterproof formulas as you can. I like using a waterproof concealer and definitely a waterproof mascara. This will keep your makeup from budging all day even with the addition sweat and water. To keep unruly brows in place, I’ll use a clear brow gel, because it won’t run or look strange as it fades throughout the day. I also like using powder to set my makeup because it doesn’t look weird with wear and it won’t run. Lastly, I’m a fan of no fuss hair when I’m outdoors. I almost always keep my hair in braids, so I don’t have to battle with the tangles when I get home and also so it stays out of my face during the day. A double braided pig-tail hair style lasts through wind and water amazingly. Also when you finally let it out, you’ll have beautiful waves. Also, don’t forget to bring some SPF to touch up with throughout the day. I like using powder SPF because it protects your skin as well as soaks up the oil on your face without messing up your makeup.

These are all my tips and tricks to creating a sweat-proof and waterproof makeup and hair look for all the times when you want to look great, but still have fun outdoors. Watch my Get Ready With Me video above to see exactly how I created this look as well as some more tips for application.
