Playing with Prints

Hey guys! I know it’s been a long time since I’ve done a fashion post, but I have quite a few outfits lined up for you guys, so get excited! I’ve want to share this one in particular for a long time. It’s probably one of my favorite outfits in my closet because I love the classic combination of these two pieces: the skirt and top.

Prints have intimidated me for a longtime, especially recently since I’ve been on a huge neutral solids kick. But I remember vividly when I picked up this top. I saw it at Zara and it just spoke to me. I know that sounds cheesy, but I knew this would be an awesome addition to my wardrobe. The colors were on point, I’m a huge fan of rich jewel tones, and the cut was so classic. I loved the short, flattering sleeves and high neckline paired with the cropped style. I think it gave this piece a really classic and sophisticated twist to a trendy and young style. Usually I’m not a huge fan of showing skin, but I really like the bit of stomach peeking thorough between these pieces. I think the satin texture of the skirt with the sophisticated and almost business style cut really complements the short length and the cropped top. Recently, I’ve really been enjoying pairing younger trends with sophisticated and classic styles. By doing this you can capture a modern vide with an elegant twist.

Moving on to the accessories, lets start with the suede jacket. This piece has been in my wardrobe for years, which is saying a lot since I’m only twenty. I love this piece because it can be paired with literally everything. The suede gives it softness yet it’s juxtaposed by the edgy motorcycle cut. My shoes are also a favorite of mine. These rich navy velvet booties are so cool. I love how they can take an outfit I’ve worn many times and completely change the look. They pair perfectly with both the navy in the top and in the suede jacket and they add an unexpected and trendy twist to an otherwise classic outfit. Lastly, we’ve got the bag. If you haven’t been keeping up with me, you probably haven’t noticed, but this bag is a recent addition. I picked this up from Rebecca Minkoff recently and I’m in love. It’s a purple grey color that wears like a glorified neutral. It looks great with everything! It can play up a neutral look with a pop of color or also be paired with more bold colors like in this look and harmonize perfectly like a neutral. So far I’m thrilled with this new piece.

Well I hope you enjoyed this fashion post, I know it’s been too long. But let me know if you want to see more fashion and outfit posts by leaving me a comment down below! See you tomorrow with a new video!
