Paul & Joe Beauty Goodies

I first discovered Paul & Joe beauty products this Spring on a visit to Canada. Being a makeup brand I hadn’t heard of (a rarity), I was immediately intrigued. In my excitement, I picked up one of their lipsticks and wow was I impressed (review here). The formula was a perfect blend of pigmentation with a weightless, almost sheer feel. It was comfortable to wear, easy to apply, and overall a perfect swipe on your lips and go lipstick. When I was given the opportunity to try a few more products from Paul & Joe, I swooned. So here are some of my thoughts! Also, check out the bottom of the post to see where you can purchases these products.

Creamy Blushes ($18) | I have to say that I was the most curious about Paul & Joe’s cream blushes. Honestly, I’m a bit tough to please when it comes to cream blush formulas, being someone who prefers a light feeling product on my cheeks with a barely there flush of color. I’ve experimented with cream blushes before, but in general, I almost always gravitate to powder formulas. These, I have to say, were genuinely enjoyable to apply and wear. They apply best with fingers, working into the skin by blending backwards in patting motions. They are beautifully lightweight and have no thick or heavy sticky feeling. They are also very bendable and can be built up from sheer color to quite a statement. I have the shades #02, a hot cool toned pink, and #01, a creamy apricot shade. I love using #01 on the cheeks on light makeup days to replace both my bronzer and blush. It gives a beautiful natural look to the skin. I use #02 for a brighter statement cheek look.

Lipstick #304 ($20)| As I mentioned before, I have already tried and loved the Paul & Joe lipstick formula, this one being no exception. I enjoy the creamy wearable feel of this product on my lips, especially since I don’t have to layer a chapstick underneath. One thing that is different about this particular shade (#304)  in comparison to my previous shade (#215) is the pigmentation. My previous shade, a natural browny mauve color, was more of a sheer wash of color. This shade, #304, is much more pigmented. It is a bright neutral toned red that to me, seems perfect for Christmas, especially since it has a bit of sparkle. Thankfully, the pigmentation does not detract from the light creamy feel, which I love since some pigmented lipsticks can feel thick and paint-like on the lips. I can’t wait to get more wear out of this shade as the holidays approach.

Face & Eye Color Palettes ($41)| These next few products were definitely the most fun out of the set. Paul & Joe never fails to impress in terms of packaging, so I was so pleased to play around with these gorgeous palettes. Each of these palettes contain three shades that can be used on the eyes as eyeshadow or on the cheeks as blush, bronzer, or highlight. The formula of these products are a mix of satin and matte powders; I appreciated the diversity. I’ll briefly chat about my favorites from the collection. The first palette with the poppy packaging (#001) ($34 here!) has an amazing brown shade that is great as a contour for both the face and eyes. I also loved applying the yellow highlight shade on my inner corner to brighten. The second palette with the blue flowers (#002) has a beautiful warm toned bronzer perfect for sweeping across the cheeks. Lastly, the sailboat palette (#003) has a gorgeous peachy blush shade perfect for Spring and Summer that I adore. The vanilla highlight shade is also great swept across the tops of the cheekbones and I liked smudging the blue shade under my bottom lash line. Overall, I thought these palettes were absolutely adorable and would be a great all in one cheek palette or a perfect gift.
