November Loves

DSC02825

November treated me pretty well in the beauty department. I felt like my skin was clear and glowing and it really made me feel confident enough to focus on a more natural look. Overall I kept my beauty routine pretty simple this month. I did a bit of experimenting throughout, but I really settled on these few products that helped me narrow down my morning routine.

As a base, I have really been loving the Makeup For Ever Mat Velvet + foundation. As it suggests, this foundation has a matte finish that I love firstly because I am oily and secondly because it has incredible lasting power. I felt like I if I applied a bit of primer under this foundation in my T-zone, my makeup would last nicely all day. Also, I only needed a pea size amount in the center of my face to cover up any redness. I then just blended out the edges towards my forehead and jawline because the color matched me so perfectly. All in all I have been very pleased with this foundation.

For a little needed warmth on my cheeks as my summer tan fades into my memory, I have been using the Hoola bronzer by Benefit. This product is one of my go-to matte bronzers that adds a bit of natural color without being to unnatural or orange. I use my Nars Yachiyo Kabuki brush with this product because I can use the tapered end to give me more definition. I love this brush for contouring with powder products. I have also been loving my Nars blush in Sin because the purple tone really brings out my hazel eyes. I also think purple blushes are super beautiful in the Fall and Winter.

For my lips I have been really going for neutral looks. If I’m wearing cool tones then I’ll often grab Mac Syrup, which is a pretty pinky-purple shade that is my go to fall neutral. I have also been loving Revlon’s Colorburst Lip balm in the shade Ingénue because it is to easy to apply and the shimmery browny-pinky nude color goes with everything. Also, I love how moisturizing it is. Lastly, I have been loving the Nars lipstick in Bilbao which is a champagne bronzy nude color. The formula on this is really smooth and the sparkles give this nude color a bit more of a statement.

Last but not least, the fragrance I have really been enjoying is the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black. This has been my go to night scent because it is so rich and musky. Sense I struggle with describing fragrances, on the Elizabeth and James website it is described as a “sensual, woody scent with notes of violet, sandalwood and vanilla.” Overall, I have been loving the month of November and all these beauty favorites I have discovered during it.
