I always find the end of December such an exciting time of year. To me, the new year represents a fresh start, a clean slate, and always comes with a burst of motivation and drive. With the holidays behind us, I like to take this opportunity, each new year, to focus a bit on myself, whether that’s starting a new hobby, injecting a little more selfcare into my daily regimen, or simply reorganizing myself and my life to help me feel productive and efficient.
In honor of New Years Eve, I thought I’d share a few of my personal New Years Resolutions with you. You never know, maybe they’ll help you develop some of yours.
My 2018 New Years Resolutions
Be a contributor. I’ve always been interested in making a difference. This year I want to make an effort to have a positive impact on the lives of those around me, to reduce my overall waste and consumption, and to support a cause that I strongly believe in.
Meet someone new. Meeting people as an “adult” is hard, especially now that I’ve moved to a new city. I want to make an effort to put myself out there and meet people.
Have a consistent exercise routine. I’m pretty sure this is everyone’s New Years Resolution, but overall, I want to try to lead a more active lifestyle, whether that be in the gym or the outdoors.
Take a trip to a foreign country. Because why not.
Better understand my expectations. I’m someone who can have high expectations. This year I want to be better at recognizing this so that I can better cope with situations that don’t meet my expectations.
Stand up for myself. This goes hand-in-hand with loving yourself, knowing your self-worth, and knowing what you deserve. I think we can all use more of this.
Be a better vegan. The holiday season is tough on veganism, but at least I got some new vegan cookbooks to keep me motivated.

New Years Eve Outfit Details
I thought I’d give you a sneak peek of what I’ll be wearing for New Years Eve this year. I found this top at a little independent boutique. So far I haven’t been able to locate it online, but I’ll keep working on it. I linked some similar styles below if you like it.
I’ve been living in these waxed jeans recently. They’re not the comfiest jeans in the world, but I love the way they look!
I’ve also been obsessed with these black booties from Zara. I picked them up on my trip to Spain and have worn them almost every day since. They are so comfortable and super cute!
Lastly, I decided to go for a glittery look for the eyes. I usually don’t play around with glitters to often because I find them challenging to work with. But practice makes perfect, so I thought I’d give them a shot. I’m highly contemplating going for a glitter highlight on New Years Eve though. That sounds pretty fun.
