When I think of Spring makeup, I think of bright lips, glowy skin, and peachy-pink cheeks. Although it was hard saying goodbye to the rich berry tones of Fall and Winter, bright lips have definitely been my favorite part of my makeup routine to experiment and get creative with lately. They’re a perfect way to take quick an effortless makeup look to the next level and make it look as though you put much more time and effort on your makeup then you actually did. My go-to makeup look recently has been a swipe of golden highlighter, my Mac Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle, all over the eyelids and the tops of my cheekbones with one of these lovely colors on my lips. Here’s a quick glimpse of my favorites lip colors so far this season.
Colorpop Ultra Matte Lips in Donut: This is a bright peachy-pink liquid lipstick that will last you throughout your whole day, from start to finish. Its bright warm tone screams Spring and it’s a beautiful statement lip that I love wearing with bronzy gold colors on my eyes and a white feminine shirt, like this one here. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coralberry: This is a light coral-orange color that can easily be dressed up or down depending on what you pair it with. It’s less of a statement color than Colorpop Donut, so if you’re going for a peachy-orange shade but don’t want to go too bold, this is perfect. For a night out, I really like wearing this shade with a bronze smokey eye, otherwise it’s really beautiful for a simple, but elegant daytime look. I love this shade so much I wore it to my prom! This lipstick is truly a staple in my spring makeup bag and its versatility also makes it great for travel.
Chanel Rouge Allure in #91, Séduisante: This is a mauve, browny-pink shade that’s perfect for an everyday, wearable spring shade. This formula is glossy and pretty moisturizing too, which again is perfect for day-to-day wear. Its pink undertone makes it a perfect subtle spring shade and I think it looks really sophisticated on the lips paired with wing liner. Also, who isn’t in love with this beautiful packaging. Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in #42, L’Éclatante: This color is definitely a statement. It’s a hot pink shade with a warm peachy undertone which I prefer to a cool toned pink. It looks beautiful with warm bronzy and glowing skin and can really add that extra glamorous element to otherwise simplistic makeup. The formula is beautiful and bold, similarly to a matte, but with a more buttery velvet finish. More review here!
Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover: I have loved the Nars Lip Pencils for years and this is no exception. The crayon shape makes this product effortless to apply and easy to swipe on without a mirror. The formula is creamy and moisturizing which again, I love in a lip product. It’s a very wearable shimmery peachy-pink shade, on the verge of orange, and it’s great for a subtle pop of color without being too dramatic. Plus, the extra moisture makes your lips look lush, full and beautiful.
I hope you enjoyed checking out my Springtime staples in my makeup routine. Tell me some of you favorite Spring lip loves!
