My Thoughts on the New Tartelette in Bloom Palette

DSC04316

I will always and forever love neutral eyeshadows. I think they are prefect for creating anything, everyday eye looks to sultry smokey eyes, in a classic yet understated kind of way. So when I saw this new Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette released for spring I had to get my hands on it. When I finally was able to take this little goodie home with me and swatch it, it was everything that I had hoped for and more.

This palette is a travel dream. It has a gradient feature that starts with cool toned eyeshadows on the top, neutral in the middle, and warmer tones on the bottom. This variation in color tones makes it easy to create many different eye looks suiting many different eye colors and skin undertones. It also has a good assortment of matte and shimmer finishes, three transition crease colors, one highlight shade, and three deeper shades for definition on the lash line or in the crease. These shadows are richly pigmented and blend nicely. I do think that some of my other eyeshadows, such as the Urban Decay shadows in the naked palette, have better blendabilty, but I still think that these Tarte shadows do a good job. The one thing I have noticed is that these shadows have a thicker formula which causes me to wash my eye brushes more often, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.

Moving away from the eyeshadow formula, I absolutely love the packaging. This may be the prettiest eyeshadow palette I own. The bright colors scream spring and it looks beautiful just sitting on a vanity or desk. It’s also compact and well made with generous amounts of product which again make this palette perfect for travel because it will hold up nicely in a makeup bag.

I’ll finish this post off with my go-to eye look using this palette. I have been loving using smarty pants in the crease, firecracker all over the lid, charmer on my brow bone and inner corner, and activist on the lash line (shade names listed at the bottom of the post). Overall, if in need of a neutral eyeshadow palette, I definitely recommend picking this one up. It’s very user friendly and is really perfect for beginners, so definitely check it out the next time you see it.
