I’ve always thought a little greenery can really brighten up a home. I feel like indoor plants can really freshen up a space and add a beautiful natural spin to interior decorating. For the last few months, I have been experimenting with orchids to add some brightness to my living spaces, but after killing three of them (I’m officially an orchid serial killer) I’ve realized that I need to move in a different, more hardy direction, when it comes to indoor plants. I’ve always been drawn to succulents, but it wasn’t until recently that I decided to give them a try.
This last weekend, I was at my local grocery store which had a nice display of mini succulents and I immediately became inspired to create my own mini arrangement. I picked up my four favorite succulents that complimented each other with various sizes and colors. Later, I ran to Michael’s to pick up a vase and some little glass pebbles to finish off my little DIY succulent garden. I picked out a circular, wide and shallow glass vase because I thought the shape would be consistent and complement the round shapes of the succulents and I thought the clear glass would add a nice contrast between the natural elements of the plants and the manmade glass.
This whole project took me about fifteen minutes to create, so it’s super simple and easy if you don’t mind getting your hands a bit dirty. I really like how it turned out and I think this DIY arrangement could be a beautiful centerpiece. Just make sure the succulents get plenty of natural light and are watered weekly.
