It’s hard to imagine that after spending the last few years in this gorgeous sunny paradise, my time here in LA is possibly coming to an end. With graduation drawing near, I’ve been looking towards the future with excitement and definitely a lot of nerves. Fortunately, I do feel ready to get out on my own and see what the world has to offer. Whether I decide to move away to work towards my dream job or take some time off to travel, I’ve made a promise to myself to make sure that I take advantage of this amazing city I’ve been living in and take time to explore and check off some adventures from my bucket list, Hollywood Boulevard being one of them.
“be a tourist in your own city”
Recently, I’ve been really intrigued by the idea of being a tourist in your own city. I think this is a fabulous way to get out, explore, and get to know the place you call home. I’d never been to Hollywood blvd, so this seemed like a pretty iconic place to start my tourist adventure. I imagined nothing more glamorous than strolling down the star-lined sidewalks, taking in all the names of the famous individuals who have graced our movie screens and record players.
Although in reality, Hollywood blvd did not quite live up to the glamour I imagined, I did have a great time looking at all the stars. My favorites being Shrek, Johnny Depp, and Bugs Bunny. There were also street performers dressed as any Hollywood character you could imagine. I finished my Hollywood blvd experience as any sugar lover should, with a trip to Ghirardelli for an ice-cream sundae.
The adventure finished with a drive down Sunset Blvd, stopping in Beverly Hills to admire some of the beautiful homes. That’s where these pictures were taken.
What I’m Wearing
Recently, I haven’t been able to leave the house without this Olive Suede Jacket from Zara. It looks great with everything! I love using it to add a bit of texture and edge to a more famine outfit such as this one. My top is from Free People. I’ve been obsessed for a while now with intricate detailing on tops such as embroidery or beading. This one features both. Tops like these are so unique and make a beautiful statement in your wardrobe. Plus, picking a more neutral color, like this beige-pink, can allow you to pair it with many different bottoms. The white jeans are from Zara as well and I often gravitate to these thinner fabrics in Spring because they keep you cool as temperatures rise. Plus the torn knees and raw seams add an organic look to normally more sterile color. In my opinion, the star of the show in this outfit is the shoes. I love these grey-blue booties from Zara because they make such a statement. Their height elongates the leg and looks especially elegant when paired with fitted jeans. Lastly, this pastel lilac bag from Rebecca Minkoff finishes off the look by being a subtle pop of color, perfect for Spring.
