As you may or may not know, I was raised in Charleston, SC. I left for college in Los Angeles and have been gone for the last couple years. After graduating in June, I moved back to the south east because sometimes all you need is a trip home to re-inspire and motivate you for future plans and endeavors. I’ve loved being back, spending time with my family, and giving more attention to the many things in my life that I love, but school had pushed aside.
One of these things has been my blog. Blogging here on A La Gray has been a passion of mine ever since I started in 2015. I love writing, especially about makeup and fashion. After taking an intensive makeup artistry course last Fall at the Make Up For Ever Academy in Paris, I’ve become eager to share some fun and more experimental looks (both makeup and fashion) with you guys. The latest being my Halloween tutorials.
On that vein, I’ve noticed that you guys really enjoy my outfit inspiration posts. I’ve always loved fashion so sharing my looks with you guys and seeing how much you like them makes me really happy. I’m going to work on getting more and more fall outfits up on the blog in a timely manner so that you will be able to pick up the pieces I’m wearing before they go out of stock.
On a different note, I thought I’d talk about Charleston a little bit. It’s been crazy coming back here to visit over the years and see how this town has just exploded with new people, businesses, and expansion in general. Although sometimes this can be bittersweet to see the town you call home morph and change before your eyes, I also find it really exciting. This city has been flooded with so many incredible opportunities and new wonderful people. It’s quite an exciting place to be. If you’re interested in me putting together a local’s guide to Charleston, please let me know. I think that could be really fun to do.
In terms of my outfit, it’s a bit of a conglomeration of pieces from my wardrobe. This is usually how I style my fall outfits because I like to find current styles that breathe new life into my older pieces. My embroidered tulle top is new from Zara, but my drawstring trousers (Zaraand back in stock!) and my black and nude heels are both oldies that have been in my wardrobe for at least two years. My bralette is actually a bathing suit top (it pays to be creative) and is from H&M. My bag is a beautiful Kate Spade one I picked up in a vintage store in Paris last Fall, but the scarf accessorizing it is from Anthropology and is on sale right now! For my lips, I’m wearing MAC Cosmetics lipstick in Twig.

I hope this post wasn’t too ramble-y, but I’ve been trying to incorporate a little more information about myself on my blog. I can be a bit of a shy and private person, so this has always been a challenge for me. But, I’m interested in giving you all the opportunity to learn some more about me, a little at a time.
