Some time has passed since I began my Be a Tourist in Your Own City mini series (check out my Hollywood Blvd post here), so I thought I’d give you all a quick update about my LA touring and what my future holds. After much thought and debate, I’ve decided on moving back to my home town of Charleston, SC. I have many passions I’m interested in pursuing in the future, so at the moment, some time to decompress, plan for the future and further educate myself seems like the best move. In honor of this decision, I’ve become determined again to explore as much of Los Angeles as possible before I leave.
One of the top places I’ve wanted to visit has been the aquarium. Located south of LA, in Long Beach, the Aquarium of the Pacific is a great destination to visit. It has a beautifully organized layout with an incredible diversity of animals. My favorite exhibits were the seals and sea lions, the jelly fish, the penguins, the sea otters, and the sharks. See any pattern? I guess I’m into the furry guys.
After exploring the aquarium, I wandered around the outlet mall located right next door. Leaving empty handed, I finished off the evening walking around the beautiful little harbor that surrounds the aquarium. With a lighthouse and a lovely park, this sunset stroll was the perfect way to end a wonderful and relaxing day.
What I Wore
For my day at the aquarium, I wore this two piece set from Rumor Boutique. This is an Australian brand I’ve been loving recently. I’ve been dying for an occasion to wear this outfit. Plus, the bottoms are actually shorts which is awesome for carefree lounging, especially for a style this short. I paired it with my favorite and well loved Sam Edelman nude sandals and my Rebecca Minkoff Avery Satchel. This outfit is perfect for a laid-back Summer look or a date night. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any of these pieces online, so I’ve linked a few similar ones below just in case you were interested.
