Enormous Drugstore Makeup Haul: New Releases & Old Loves

I have quite a large drugstore makeup haul for you guys today! Recently, I’ve been on a HUGE beauty kick. This Fall in Paris (I’m back in LA now), I decided to go on a makeup no-buy after destroying Boots and Superdrug on my trip to London. If you want to see what I picked up from the UK, I have a bunch of posts here! I made a deal with myself, to go the rest of the year without a makeup splurge. Naturally, because I’m stubborn, I had to achieve this goal. So the Christmas season came and went with me lusting over beautiful seasonal collections and gorgeous holiday releases. I successfully made it through, which I’m honestly really proud of. Luckily, I had a treat at the end of this beauty fast, a ticket to IMATS in LA.

I picked up some really amazing products at IMATS, check out my haul here, but after being surrounded by so much makeup after so many weeks of denying myself, I couldn’t just stop there. Of course I came home that night and made an order on Ulta.com to pick up some drugstore makeup products that I’d been wanting to try out as well, many of which were inspired by IMATS. So here’s my huge drugstore haul! I hope you enjoy it and make sure to stick around to the bottom of the post where I have a first impressions video where I test out some of these products on my face for the first time!

What drugstore brands I picked up…

I’ll go through all of these drugstore products by brand. I haven’t properly tested out each and every one of them, but here are my first impressions mixed in with some reviews of well loved favorites.

L’Oreal Paris

L’Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation($16.99): This product is a huge favorite for me! I’d say this was only of my most used foundations of 2016. It has a beautiful light to medium buildable coverage with a glowy finish. It looks like skin! Perfect for day to day wear since it feels so lightweight. My color is N2. Check out this post for more details on this AMAZING product!

L’Oreal Infallible Paints Blush Palette ($16.99): This is a beautiful palette filled with four matte blush shades and a mini brush. The first shade is a neutral coral-y peach, the second a bright orange-red, the third a hot pink, and the last is a dusty rose color. These blushes are very pigmented, so use a light hand. The formula is really nice as well.

L’Oreal Infallible Lip Paints ($9.99): I’ve been playing around with these guys for two weeks now and I can say I adore these lip products. Creamy, but fiercely pigmented, these lip paints will totally rock your world if you’re a fan of the color payoff of liquid lipsticks, but not the dryness. I picked up the shades (left to right on photo) Sultry Sangria, Wild Rose, and Nude Star.

Maybelline Dream Fresh Face Liquid Foundation ($15.99): This is a new cushion foundation on the drugstore market. I was so excited to get my hands on this one, especially since I love the L’Oreal one so much! Similarly to the L’Oreal one, this foundation has a light to medium coverage with a beautiful glowy finish. Perfect for everyday! I picked up shade 20. More info in the video below!

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer ($7.99): This is such an oldie but a goodie product for me. I love to use this concealer all over my face for highlighting: in a “V” shape under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, between my eyebrows, on my chin. This little guy really brightens the under eye area. Perfect for a no makeup makeup day or for layering with a corrector to fight tired eyes. Love it!

Maybelline Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer ($7.99): Since I am so much a fan of Maybelline’s other Dream concealer (above), I had to give this one a try. This stick formula has a surprisingly creamy texture. It also has a satin finish, which is perfect for around the face concealing. More thoughts on this guy in my video below

Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint ($9.99): I have to say, at first I was a little disappointed in this product. Mine had a lot of air inside the tube so when I first used it it seemed as if half my product was just air. Regardless, the texture of this lip product is really nice. Having more of a satin finish, it’s not quite as glossy as the L’Oreal ones, but the formula has a mouse texture which is more moisturizing than the typical liquid lipstick. I need to try this one out more, but so far I like it pressed into the lips as an easy on the go lip product. It has a nice scent too!

Maybelline Face Studio Master Camo Color Correcting Kit ($12.99): So far I’ve played around with this palette a few times. The creams themselves aren’t super pigmented, but I don’t mind this because I prefer a light wash of color when I’m color correcting. The formula is really creamy and smooth, almost like a primer, so it works best to pat this into the skin and use a beauty sponge to blend out any concealer you may place on top. This keeps that initial corrector in place. Still need to play around with it some more, but definitely a great affordable color correcting option.

Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Volumizer ($9.99): This product is a tinted eyebrow gel with fibers inside to help build up the volume in your brows. I picked up the soft brown shade which is a nice ashy toned brown, perfect for blondes going for the darker brow look. So far I like applying this to my brows to comb, tame, and tint them and then come back with a powder in to fill in sparse areas. So far, I’m liking this one.

NYX Total Control Drop Foundation ($13.99): I was so excited to get my hands on this guy. For some reason I am really intrigued by drop foundations. The the idea of a light but flawless base for everyday wear is really appealing to me. I’ve only tested this guy out a few times, but my first impression is good. It’s a light to medium, but buildable, coverage with a drier consistency which works amazingly well with my oily skin. If you’re dry you might want to mix this together with a moisturizer or primer like the Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré.

NYX Lid Lingerie Eye Tint ($6.99): I’d heard good things about this cream shadow, so I decided to pick one up in a natural pink champagne color. This would be perfect to layer under eyeshadow as a base or to just wear on it’s own for a more natural look. It blends out beautifully as well! My first impressions are in the video below!

NYX Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter ($6.99): This product has a nice creamy texture with a light champagne golden undertone. It blends into the skin easily with a beauty blender and gives a nice subtle glow to the cheek bones, perfect for day to day wear. The color Crystal Glare is really beautiful.

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick ($6.99): These lip products have intrigued my for a while now. Another liquid lipstick I know, but I guess I just feel the need to try them all. This liquid lipstick has a pretty standard formula that’s light and very liquid and dries down to a matte finish. Do note that it is a bit drying, but this is relatively normal for liquid lipsticks. The color, Soft Spoken, is absolutely gorgeous. I swatch it on the lips in my video!

Rimmel London

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder ($4.99): Another old favorite of mine! This was one of my first makeup powders I picked up in high school in my battle against my oily skin. Since it has stuck with me all these years, it must be good! I love using this to set my makeup with and as a blotting powder. So easy and so inexpensive, this guy is a handbag must have.

Rimmel Match Perfection Skin Tone Adapting Concealer ($5.99): Again, heard a lot about this product, so I’ve very excited to finally try this one out. This is advertised as a brightening concealer, which is definitely what I look for in my under-eye concealers. It blends like a dream and has standard medium coverage, similar to the Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer I mentioned above. More thoughts in the video!
