Smoothies are one of my favorite snacks. I think they are the perfect boost for a light breakfast in the morning or a mid afternoon snack. Since I am a vegetarian, I look as smoothies as a delicious snack I can pack full of protein to make sure that I am getting a healthy dose in my diet. One of my favorite smoothies is the Starbucks Chocolate Banana smoothie, so this is my twist, made just the way I like it.
1 banana frozen
3/4 cup of almond milk (or whichever milk product you prefer)
1 tbsp. of chocolate syrup or sauce (I use Midnight Moo from Trader Joes)
1/4 cup of greek yogurt
optional: protein powder (I’m currently trying out the Whey protein from Trader Joes and I only use 1/2 a dose) and/or 2 tbsp ground flax seed (for protein as well)
I throw all of these ingredients into my blender. Blend and voilà, you have a yummy, chocolaty, delicious, protein packed smoothie!
